Woodland Management

We work with estates and farms to implement their woodland management plans.  We have a particular focus on smaller forestry projects without the use of excessively heavy machinery.  Aiming to carry out with minimal impact to the area.

continuous cover forestry

Continuous Cover Forestry (CCF) is a sustainable forest management approach that maintains a constant forest cover by selectively removing trees and promoting natural regeneration, aiming for diverse, structurally complex forests

General Tree Works

This can include felling, thinning, pollarding, lifting and reduction.

Lifting - removes some of the lower limbs to raise the overall canopy of the tree.  Increasing light, creating more space and overall tree health.

Thinning - selectively removing branches from the crown to reduce weight, allow light through and help protect the tree.

Pollarding - a method of pruning that keeps trees a smaller size.

Reduction - branches and stems are trimmed to reduce the overall size of the tree, this can improve the overall appearance and reduce weight and wind drag

Sectional Felling

In domestic settings it is not always possible to fell a tree without damage to property.  Using highly skilled sectional felling techniques we can fell almost any tree in any setting - safely and efficiently.

Storm damage

It is always sad when a tree is damaged by a storm, but when it does occur it is important to get it cleared up and to ensure the area is safe.  Whether the tree has lost a limb in high winds or has failed completely we can implement a plan to clear this up and make the area safe.

Permissions

When work needs to be done to a tree or trees with  Tree Preservation Orders (TPO) or in areas of conservation, we can apply on your behalf for the relevant permissions.
